Dick and Flossie Zimmerman were a dynamic duo for the Fort Wayne Komet Hockey Club. The husband and wife team are both natives of Fort Wayne and have resided in Fort Wayne all of their life.

Their connection with the Komets organization began in 1958 when Dick became a goal judge. Mr. Zimmerman served as goal judge for 11 years before becomming the Public Address announcer in 1969 at Komet home games. In addition to performing as PA announcer, Dick also kept the game scoresheet and recorded and maintained the Komet’s team stats for a number of years. He was a member of the IHL minor officials and served as the Komet’s Supervisor of Minor Officials until his retirement from the Komets in 1990.

Florence “Flossie” Zimmerman was a familiar face to all Komet fans from 1966 to 1990. She first became an employee of the Fort Wayne Komet Hockey Club in 1966 performing in the capacity of ticket office manager, Komet office manager and an assistant to general manager Ken Ullyot and business manager Colin Lister for the entire term of 24 years.
