A graduate of Northside High School, Don Myers began showing his guidance and leadership as an usher at the Emboyd Theater in downtown Fort Wayne, now known as the Embassy.

Starting in 1944, Don chaired the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Fort Wayne, later to be known as the Fort Wayne Jaycees. One of the projects of the Junior Chamber of Commerce was to build a proper memorial for war veterans of Allen County.

After a number of suggestions, it was decided that the Allen County Memorial Coliseum would be a proper fit. The coliseum cost was $3,125,000.00.

Through his 6-year involvement with the Junior Chamber of Commerce and once it was approved, Don applied for and was appointed the first Manager of the Memorial Coliseum in 1951.

Don went on to manage the coliseum for 31 years until 1982.

Since his retirement, Don continues to reside in the Fort Wayne area.
